Back again at the gorgeous Forest Edge Restaurant in Gembrook for Judy and Andrew’s wedding ceremony & reception. I just love this venue, the views are spectacular – even on a rainy day like this one! Judy and Andrew decided to opt for a first look as part of their photography. A ‘first look’ is when a couple get to see each other for the first time, away from prying eyes. It can be a cute way to capture that initial emotion in a more private way, as well as allowing you to potentially do all your wedding photography before the ceremony, meaning you can just concentrate on your guests after the nuptials instead of needing to leave for photos. This especially helpful for a Friday/weekday wedding when you might want to hold the ceremony later in the day.
As it decided to start raining right before the first look, I quickly organised for us to shoot at the Puffing Billy station, which ended up coinciding with Puffing Billy chuffing into the station, making for some lovely photos. From there we headed to Swallowfields Winery for a photography session on their amazing property ( must be booked in with the owner) , before heading back to Forest Edge to get ready for the ceremony. Managed to capture some great reflection shots of Andrew and Judy on the new deck at Forest Edge, before the guests started to arrive. Judy disappeared to freshen up, whilst Andrew greeted family and friends. The New bar area at Forest Edge meant the ceremony took place out of the cold and rain, and a roaring fire greeted guests making for a cosy ceremony location.
Gorgeous location and a very happy couple!
