Another great wedding at Forest Edge in Gembrook Victoria. I feel pretty lucky to be able to shoot weddings here, the food is amazing and Bev’s attention to detail is always perfect. Venues can be very different from each other, but you can tell when the owners of an establishment believe and are passionate about what they are doing. Forest Edge Restaurant is a 5 star wedding venue in my opinion 🙂
Helen started her day with her bridesmaid at home, and there was a happy calm in the room when I arrived. She looked absolutely gorgeous as she put on her dress. When I arrived at Forest Edge , The little page boy was a little upset and shy about his role in the days events, and Luke was working some magic to calm him down. By the time Helen had arrived in her gorgeous vintage car, everyone was ready to go, and there was hardly a dry eye as she walked down the aisle.
We spent some time after the ceremony with some fun photos on the edge of one of the local farms, as well as making use of the picturesque Gembrook Train Station. The sun came out right on golden hour, sending a beautiful light through the trees in the final photo moments, before we headed back to the reception.
A beautiful day, and now I am busy ordering their wedding album as we speak 🙂
Although it was early August, it turned out to be a lovely day for Steph and Deans wedding. Daffodils in big bunches adorned the tables inside the beautiful Forest Edge Restaurant and although a little chilly, the sky was blue and the sun did its best to warm us up! Forest Edge is truly a spectacular venue, and Bev is a fantastic host.
I was booked to start from the ceremony onwards for Steph and Dean’s wedding, so I didn’t get to see Stephanie’s amazing dress until she arrived in her stretch limousine. After a sweet moment with Dad before the ceremony, Steph walked down the aisle towards Dean, who I thought looked a little misty at seeing his Bride appear:) It was a beautiful day and a gorgeous ceremony.
Afterwards we tried out a new “vintage style” location I have access to in Gembrook, before heading to the Puffing Billy Station and the railway line & forest beyond. We always get told as Photographers to not risk using a railway line with you clients, but in case any of my readers are not familiar with Puffing Billy, it is an old tourist railway, running steam/ coal engines that chug along so slowly you can see them a mile off. They only come into town once a day at lunchtime, so I knew we were perfectly safe in the late afternoon!
I might be biased given it is my home town, but Gembrook really is a gorgeous place to get married, and a photographers dream location. Congratulations on a beautiful day Steph & Dean – Hope you enjoy your slideshow and images – Album Design is on its way!!
